About Ethanol Blending in India
The Government of India has embarked on a strategic initiative to blend ethanol with petrol, aiming to reduce the country's dependence on imported crude oil, cut carbon emissions, and boost the agricultural sector.
The Journey to E20
Initially rolled out as E10 (10% ethanol blend), the target has been advanced to achieve 20% ethanol blending (E20) nationwide by 2025-26. This transition requires vehicles to be specifically designed or modified to handle the higher ethanol content.
Why Ethanol?
